I heard the call to enter formation for the priesthood while I was a law student at Notre Dame. The three years I spent at Our Lady’s university–the last two while living on campus as an “assistant rector” in a mens residence hall–were a joyous, blessed, wonderful period in my life.
Many of the [...]

The Archdiocese of Cincinnati has had a really great new program within the past year called Cast Your Nets. It is a coordinated effort by the Vocations office, Office of Youth & Young Adult Ministry, and some active and dedicated youth ministers. Fr. Schnippel has blogged on it previously.

I hope everyone has had a glorious Easter. Our celebration here at the internship parish, St. Albert the Great, was wonderful. The Vigil last night was exquisite and I assisted with two additional Masses this morning, serving as thurifer each time.
In this season of New Life, many prayers in particular for [...]

Happy Triduum!
The Institution of the Eucharist on Holy Thursday… the first Mass, the promise of Christ’s continuing, substantial presence with us until he comes again… the solemnity and joy of this day cannot be overstated!
As a helpful reflection from the Knights of Columbus states:
I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with [...]

This morning at the beautiful Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington, Kentucky, our seminarian brother Kevin Kahmann was ordained to the order of the diaconate.
It was a perfect day, in every sense. Blue skies, bright sun shining through the cathedral’s stunning stained glass windows… and in Covington they make sure that [...]
